Chaco-University District

Driving Directions

From I-5 heading northbound: From I-5 N, take exit 169 towards NE 50th St. Take a right off the exit, and continue for 0.5 miles on NE 50th St. Chaco Canyon will be located on the right side of the street, at the corner of NE 50th St. and 12th Ave NE.

From I-5 heading southbound: From I-5 S, take exit 169 towards NE 50th St. Take a left off the exit, and continue for 0.5 miles on NE 50th St. Chaco Canyon will be located on the right side of the street, at the corner of NE 50th St. and 12th Ave NE.

Parking: Paid street parking is available on many streets near Chaco Canyon. When parking, look for the green electronic parking meters located near valid parking zones. Payment for street is required Mon-Sat 8am-6pm (not required on Sundays and holidays).  Want free 2-hour parking?  On most streets North of 50th, you'll find 2-hour parking on the more rural neighborhood streets.  Check parking signs for restrictions!

Bussing

Pretty much any bus that takes you to the University District will get you within spitting distance of Chaco Canyon: all of the 70’s, the 66, the 43, 44, 48, 7, and 9 all come very close. Get off at the hub of 45th and University. Saunter over to 12th Ave NE (two blocks to the West of University Way), and turn Northward. Mosey two blocks. We are on the Southwest corner of 50th and 12th in the HELIX building.

Bicycling

As parking can be difficult, and we are ruining Alaska to feed our cars, biking is an excellent way to get to Chaco Canyon.

From the Burke-Gillman Trail: Get off on Brooklyn Avenue NE. Carefully bike North on Brooklyn until you get to 50th, then hang a left on 50th to the intersection of 12th Ave NE. We are on the Southwest corner of 50th and 12th Ave NE, in the HELIX building.

From the East side of Greenlake: Take Ravenna Boulevard to the Southeast. When you get to 12th Ave NE take a right. We are on the Southwest corner of 50th and 12th in the HELIX building.

Bicycle parking: The City of Seattle graced our sidewalks with a bike rack on the North and East sides of the café. Have at ‘em!
